Solution for shrink-bundling small bottles or cartons and aseptic cartons fitted with a screw cap palletization

The reduction in size of sales units as well as the increase in production line speeds and layout constraints have prompted Cermex to innovate in order to meet its customers’ requirements, in particular for packing small bottles of drinking yogurt or shrink-wrapping liquid cartons.
The number of aseptic cartons fitted with screw caps continues to increase whether it be for soup, fruit juice or dairy products. Practical and simple to use, screw caps meet consumer requirements on a functional level thanks to one swift movement enabling opening or closing.

However, this style of carton increases the risk of products distorting during palletization and reduces pallet stability.

As an expert in handling cartons at high speed, Cermex has the answer to these quality, safety and product protection requirements by proposing a solution during the shrink-wrapping operation.

High speed Shrinkwrapping

The TSi high-speed shrink-bundler without sealing bar is specially designed to handle small products (maximum height: 220mm).

Designed to guarantee quick and easy access to all areas of the machine, the TSi is composed of high tech equipment making it user-friendly and ergonomic as well as economic to run.

A pad to strengthen your packs

In order to compensate for the difference in height due to the carton cap, Cermex integrates a cardboard reinforcement insertion module into its TSi high-speed shrink-wrapper. This pad, inserted between the product rows prior to collation, supports the weight of the cartons during palletization, thus making the pallet more rigid.

Advantages on all levels:

  • Product protection: This pad improves the resistance to vertical compression during palletization and maintains security throughout the supply chain. It also protects the caps as they no longer bear the complete weight of the cartons.
  • Reduction in costs and preservation of the environment: This packaging, which is more economical than a wrap around case or high-sided tray, also makes it possible to load more packs per pallet consequently reducing packaging costs, transport costs and environmental impact.
  • Improvement in communication - ‘The packaging sells what it protects’: The use of clear film improves the product visibilty, whilst the use of printed film can offer an esthetic means of communication. Cermex guarantees the accurate positioning of the printed film thanks to sensors positioned at the film injection table infeed.
Main developments:
  • Integration of a vertical feeder ensuring reliable extraction via a belt system which individually separates the pads. The feeder is equipped with a photocell for perfect synchronization with the shrink-wrapper.
  • Unique, patented, continuous 45° selecting system (CCO®) to achieve speeds up to 16 000 cartons/hour (standard or slim 1 liter cartons).
  • Reduced energy consumption, thanks to a heat tunnel in proportion to the size of the cartons.
  • Compact machine with working height of 800 mm for greater accessibility.
  • Removable injection table to facilitate access to the film, in particular for maintenance purposes.
  • 2 versions available: stainless steel or painted steel.
