Inauguration of Cermex SAP in Bangkok-Thailand
On January 22nd, Cermex officially opened its South Asian subsidiary in Bangkok with a strong Sales & Services team. The End of Line manufacturer welcomed a hundred prospects and customers to explain its local vision and strategy for the coming years.
With a dedicated local team via a Representative Office in Bangkok for the last 6 years, Cermex decided to firmly establish its presence by opening a legal entity. Over and above the speeches and cocktail, the event was the occasion for Cermex SAP to meet and talk to some of the major players in the food, beverage and home/personal care industries of this region.
Six months after the grand opening of its Beijing plant in China where European-standard shrink-wrappers, case packers and palletizers are manufactured for the Asian markets, the Cermex board wishes to continue the expansion of the company through international development.
In his speech, Jean-Félix Lesueur, President of Cermex, first thanked everyone for attending and having facilitated the creation of the subsidiary.
He also revealed the main targets. In fact, the Cermex strategy (turnover of 90M€) is to be a dynamic group, providing end of line equipment with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, supported by a robust shareholder Tetra Laval (turnover of 8 billion euros) and close relations with its mother company Sidel.
Marc Daniel, Vice President Sales & Services, explained “Cermex SAP should now be a great platform to boost our capability to better serve the South Asian market. We want to act locally, under local market conditions and with the local market’s way of doing business”. In addition to top-of-the-class packaging equipment, Cermex wants to supply “all services associated all along the life of the line” insists Mr. Daniel.
In turn, Michel Nigrowsky, president of Cermex SAP, was proud of the job accomplished by his team, with now more than 400 machines installed in Asia. He also mentioned the new opportunities that this legal entity will bring to Cermex and its customers (licences for Sales, Services, manufacturing and engineering).
